Munster Schools Named For Decider

The Munster U18 Schools team, sponsored by Trend Micro, have named their squad for Saturday’s Interprovincial decider against Leinster at Donnybrook (12.45pm).

The game was scheduled to start at 3pm but will now kick-off at 12.45pm.

Two wins over Ulster and a home win over Leinster has given the Munster Schools side the opportunity to follow the lead of their club counterparts and pick up the Interprovincial title.

The three-team competition is played on a home and away basis with Munster the only side capable of completing the campaign undefeated although a stiff test awaits in Donnybrook.

Hosts Leinster won away in Ulster last week, 21-10, and have nine points to Munster’s 12 after three games each so it’s winner-takes-all.

The first clash between the sides at Thomond Park last month was an extremely close-fought affair with Munster coming out on top 8-3 and it’s set to be another cliffhanger on Saturday as both sides vie for the title.

Head Coach Fiach O’Loughlin has made five changes for the tie as Jonathon Wren comes in for Eoin Monahan at full-back, Ben Moloney replaces Paul Clancy on the wing and Craig Casey comes in for Colin Sisk at scrum-half.

Josh Wycherley starts at loosehead prop instead of Travis Coomey while Cian Hurley comes in for Colin Deane in the second row.

Luke Fitzgerald and Sean French combine in the centres once again as JD O’Hea keeps his place on the wing and Ben Healy remains at out-half.

Hooker George Downing and tighthead prop Luke Masters keep their places along with lock Anthony Ryan. Cian Fitzgerald, Daniel Feasey and Luke Clohessy make up the back-row.
