Munster Players Attend Ballincollig, Bruff and Fermoy Summer Camps

This week participants have been enjoying the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Summer Camps running in Ballincollig, Bruff and Fermoy rugby clubs.

Some of the Munster players paid a visit to all there venues yesterday to meet the participants and see the new rugby skills they have been developing over the past week.

James Cronin called into his old club Ballincollig RFC with fellow Munster forward Stephen Archer to join in on some of the fun activities with the children.

Bruff RFC welcomed Munster’s BJ Botha and Andrew Conway who were delighted to sign autographs for the boys and girls at the camp and answer their questions on professional rugby.

Billy Holland and Kevin O’Byrne made the trip to North Cork where they met the young players attending the Fermoy RFC Camp. Both players were highly impressed with the standard of rugby and took part in some of the fun games.

Next week the Summer Camps will take place at Dungarvan, Nenagh and Newcastle West. A limited number of places are still available to purchase for each camp, so if you want to guarantee a place at your preferred venue, don't delay and book online by clicking here.

Camp fee is €;85 per child with a family discount of a second and subsequent child at €;75.

Each camp takes place over one week (Monday through to Friday inclusive) between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

Each participant will receive an Official Summer Camp Pack comprising an adidas Summer Camp T-Shirt, adidas Shorts, adidas Socks, adidas Draw-String Bag, Mouth Guard and one Junior ticket to a Munster match.

Children who participate in the camps will get the chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as team work, respect and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. All this while learning to develop the basic rugby skills of passing, tackling (in a controlled environment), evasion and kicking. Most of all we guarantee lots of fun!

To facilitate the appropriate attention, participants will be divided by their age into groups. Central to the Munster Rugby Summer Camps philosophy is ensuring the introduction to the game of Rugby in a safe and controlled manner.

The Camps will be managed and run by fully accredited I.R.F.U. Mini Rugby coaches. All Summer Camp staff have undertaken the National Garda Vetting process required to comply with the IRFU policy regarding recruitment and vetting to work in age grade rugby.
