Munster Rugby recently held a series of Girls Rugby Blitz days for primary and secondary school pupils throughout Limerick.

Garryowen FC hosted a very successful event for pupils attending The Model, Lets Educate Together and Gealscoil an Raithin primary schools.

Thomond RFC hosted girls representing Parteen, Corpus Christi and Thomond national schools, who also enjoyed a day of fun rugby.

All schools that took part received coaching sessions aswell as a ‘play rugby’ pack which included balls, bibs and cones.

The teachers in each school were also invited to participate in an upskilling session to help them to continue the activities during P.E. time.

The blitz days are a Munster Rugby initiative designed to promote girls rugby throughout the province and it is hoped participants will develop an interest in the game and join their local club.
