It is a three horse race in the First Division of the Munster Junior league as Galbally win top of the table clash in Division 2 and Scariff continue to lead in Division 3:

Cashel still maintain a one point lead over Crosshaven after their 25-13 home win over fellow contenders Tralee. The home side raced into the lead after three minutes when Howard Stanley touched down and Darragh O’Brien converted. O’Brien extended the lead with a penalty and than converted a try from Brendan O’Connor.
Mid way through the half Brian O’Sullivan scored a try fir Tralee, just before half time Brendan O’Connor and John Morath exchanged tries to leave it 22-10 at half time.
Garrett Walsh and O’Brien exchanged penalties as Cashel held out for victory.

Crosshaven traveled to Waterpark and defeated the home side 21-10 a result that probably ends Waterpark’s hopes of a quick return to senior rugby. It was 11-10 to the visitors at half time with a try by Robbie Savage and two penalties by Cian McGovern. The home side had tries by Jay Kavanagh and Brendan Walsh. Darren O’Keeffe scored a second try for the visitors after the interval and McGovern kicked a conversion and penalty.

Defending champions Richmond picked up maximum points with a 41-0 home win over Clonmel and are now just two points behind Cashel. The home side led 17-0 at half time with tries from Gearoid Phelan and Darren Kavanagh and Mike Kelleher converted both and also added a penalty. Kavanagh added two further tries after the break and Ger McCarthy and Emmet Harty got one each with James McDermot kicking two conversions.

Clanwilliam lost a twelve point lead to end up sharing the spoils with Cobh Pirates on a 22-22 scoreline. The Tipperary side led 12-0 at half time with tries from David McCormack and John Redigan and a Richard Giles conversion. Mark Chandler opened Cobh’s account with a try which he converted after three minutes but Kieran Merrigan extended the home sides advantage with a third try which Giles converted. Jack Hickey kept Cobh in touch with a try and Chandler converted. Darren Frahill tied up the scores with a Cobh try, Childs put Clanwilliam ahead with a penalty but Chandler levelled with the last kick of the game.

At the other end of the table both Skibbereen and Kilfeacle recorded home wins. Skibbereen defeated Thurles 29-11. Peter Stout, Kieran Shannon, David Shannon, Michael Limerick and Brad Childs all scored tries for the winners and David Shannon converted two. Barry Dwyer replied with a try for Thurles and Aidan Dwyer kicked two penalties.

Kilfeacle recorded a 42-5 win over Ballincollig. Derek Ryan scored two of Kilfeacle’s five tries with Jack Sullivan, Shane Luby and Mark Hanly getting one each. Luby added four conversions and three penalties. Danny Gleeson was Ballincollig’s try scorer.

A try from Aaron Skerritt and a conversion and three penalties by Declan Collins helped St. Senan’s to a 16-14 home win over Old Christians. Stuart Lee scored a try for the visitors and Aidan Tobin kicked three penalties.

Galbally still remain unbeaten in Division Two after they defeated joint leaders Killarney 20-8 at the Kerry venue. James Taylor and Philip Moore scored tries for Galbally, Darren Guerin kicked a penalty, drop goal and conversion and Liam Casey also added a conversion. John O’Driscoll replied with a try for the home side and Paudie Hanley kicked a penalty.

As a result of this defeat both Castleisland and Kanturk have now moved into joint second place. Castleisland have ended Kinsale’s hopes of promotion this season after their 31-0 home win over the Cork side. Mark Connolly, Sean Riordan, Matt Ahern and Nessan Murphy were try scorers for the Kerry outfit and Connelly kicked four conversions and a penalty.

Kanturk moved up the table after their 26-12 away win over Youghal. Peter Earley scored two tries for the winners and Brian O’Neill one. Darragh Meade kicked two penalties, drop goal and a conversion, Jonathon Ormond and Gary McArdle replied with tries for Youghal and Keith McCarthy added a conversion.

Muskerry lost at home to Mallow 14-10 in their derby tie. Brian Ward was Mallow’s try scorer and Brian Morris kicked three penalties. Darren O’Farrell and Willie Healy replied with tries for the Ballyanly side.

Charleville caused the biggest shock of the day when a first half try from Ger Hayes saw them defeat Newcastle West 5-0.

St. Mary’s defeated Newport 17-6. Glen O’Callaghan and Gareth Edwards scored tries for the winners and Sean Lyons converted both also kicked a penalty.

A try from Niall Nevin and three penalties by Brian Murphy helped Ennis to a 14-6 home win over Bandon. Eoin O’Donovan replied with two penalties for Bandon.

A try and drop goal by Robbie Madden and a conversion by James Kelly kept Scariff on top of the Third Division after their 10-6 home win over Dungarvan. Conor Foley kicked two penalties for the visitors.

Corca Dhuibhne won the Kerry derby defeating Killorglin 12-10. Ciaran Collins scored a try and a conversion for the winners and Shane O’Rourke also scored a try.

Presentation moved into second place after their 29-10 home win over Waterford City. Damian Kennedy scored a try for the Suirsiders and Aaron Foskin kicked a conversion and penalty.

Douglas defeated Shandon 23-0 with a try from Andy Larkin and six penalties by Eoin Philpott.

Kilrush won their first game with a 28-10 home win over Bantry Bay.

Sunday’s Well collected maximum points in their Seconds League encounter away to Highfield 39-13. Kenny Barry, Joe Moynihan, Francis Moynihan and Daniel Horgan were among the try scorers in this victory.

A penalty by Eoin O’Callaghan earned Bandon a 3-0 home win over Dunmanway in the Junior Two League South.

Tries by Brian McMahon and Kevin Twomey both converted by Conor McCarthy gave Mallow a surprise 14-11 away win over Ballincollig.

Cork Transport defeated Dolphin 29-28 in a very exciting Junior 3 League tie at the Corn Field. Ger Wade, Niall Butt, Ross Kearney and Jonathan Foley scored tries for the ‘Port and Mark Bevan kicked three conversions and a penalty.
