Five of the six finalists in the three Junior Club Cup competitions are known after the weekend games.

Crosshaven’s great start to the season continued at Myrtleville when the Seasiders booked their place in the final of the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup Final with an 18-6 victory over Tralee. Both sides were prepared to throw the ball around at every opportunity and this was one of the best games seen at this grade in recent seasons.

The sides were level 3-3 at half time with Ian Good kicking a penalty for the home side and Brian Mullins replying for Tralee. Tries from Chris Kearney, Jake Grey and Eamon Ring saw Crosshaven book their final place. Mullins added a second penalty for the Kerry side.

The other semi final between Clonmel and Cashel was put back to next week as a result of Clonmel’s involvement in the ODM Financial Munster Senior Cup against Clonakilty on Saturday.

Holders Galbally and Kinsale will contest the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Shield Final. Galbally received a walk over from Castleisland to reach the final.

Kinsale booked their place with a 32-17 home win over Newcastle West. Peter Murphy opened the scoring with a penalty for Kinsale but tries by Richard Langford and Brian McAuliffe had the visitors ahead. Frazer Hodgson scored a try for Kinsale to leave it 10-8 at half time. Kinsale dominated the second half and tries by Joe Lyons, Hodgson and Murphy and three conversions and a penalty by Murphy booked their place in the decider. Tommy Kelleher scored a late try for the visitors which he also converted.

Presentation and Waterford City will contest the Martin O’Sullivan Cup Final. The Suirsiders reached the final with a 26-12 away win over Corca Dhuibhne. The sides were level 12-12 with ten minutes remaining but a superb performance by the visitors pack proved the difference as Sean Stafford and Lenny Power scored late tries and Aaron Foskin converted both. Chris Ferriter and John Devere scored tries for the West Gaeltacht side and Ciaran Coillean converted one. Jason Power and Damian Kennedy were try scorers for the visitors and Foskin kicked a conversion.

Mark Phair, James Ryan and Kevin Donnelly were try scorers for Presentation in their 24-6 win over Scariff. Phair converted all three tries and also kicked a penalty. Robie Madden and Thomas Cronin kicked a penalty each for the Clare side.

Cashel defeated Thurles 35-7 to reach the final of the Mansergh Cup. Jack Ryan scored two tries for the winners and Robert Coates, Pat O’Connor and Darragh O’Brien got one each with O’Connor converting all five. Billy Delahunt replied with a try for Thurles and Aidan Dwyer converted.

Holders Richmond will face U.L. Bohemian in the semi final of the Transfield Cup after their 31-13 away win over Abbeyfeale. James McDermot, Finbar Hogan, Stephen Gallagher and Thomas Galvin scored tries for the winners and Jeff McNamara converted all four and also added a penalty. Robert Browne replied with a try for Abbeyfeale and Marcus Scanes kicked a conversion, penalty and drop goal.

Kanturk are through to the quarter finals of the Cork County Cup after their 12-7 home win over Bandon. The visitors led 7-0 at half time with a try by Richard Milner which Sean O’Riordan converted. Darragh Meade levelled the scores with a try and conversion and Padraig Kelleher made sure of victory with a try.

Holders Cork Constitution will face Ballincollig in the final of the Dennehy Cup after their 17-7 away win over Cobh Pirates. The home side opened the scoring with a try by Tadgh Hawes which Ian Jones converted. A try by Shane Desmond two minutes before the break left Cobh 7-5 ahead. Desmond put Con’ in front with his second try and Simon Barry converted. Mid way through the second half Rory O’Sullivan put the game beyond the home side with a third try for Con’.

Bruff will meet Richmond in the McInerney Cup Final after their 26-17 home win over Shannon. Donogh McCarthy scored two tries for the winners and Martin O’Rourke got one. Richard McAuliffe kicked one conversion and three penalties.

Old Christians won the O’Sullivan Cup final with a 22-9 win over Highfield at Ballyanly. Alan Murphy and Noel Finneran scored tries for the Rathcooney side and Conor Mangan kicked four penalties. Darragh O’Keeffe replied with three penalties for ‘Field.
