Clonmel have opened up a six point gap at the top of Division 1 of the Munster Junior League as their main challengers Richmond and Kilfeacle were idle due to postponements because of the weather.

Clonmel travelled to Grove Island and defeated St. Mary’s 19-12.
Two penalties and a conversion of a penalty try by Conor Cooney gave Clonmel a 13-0 half time lead.
Robin Gallagher opened Mary’s account with a try, but Cooney replied with his third penalty.
A try from Sean Duffy converted by Eoghan O’Byrne closed the gap to four points before Cooney completed the scoring with a penalty.

Bandon have moved into second place thanks to a last minute try from Christian Mulcahy to give them a 17-16 win over Clanwilliam at the Tipperary venue. A try from Vivian Grisewood and a conversion and three penalties by Niall Leahy looked like securing the points for the Tipperary side. Richard Walsh and Dan Swithenbank were Bandon’s other try scorers and Walsh added one conversion.

Galbally continued their recent good run with a 22-15 away win over Old Christians. Brendan Childs and Eoin Bourke were try scorers for Galbally who were also awarded a penalty try. Jack O’Mullane kicked two conversions and a penalty. Dave O’Driscoll and Mark Gleeson replied with tries for the Rathcooney side and Sean Meaney kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Muskerry eased their relegation worries with a 15-7 away win over Skibbereen. A try from Joe Treacy converted by Eoin Keohane gave the visitors a 7-0 half time lead.
Skibb’ drew level with a try from Jack O’Driscoll converted by Denis McCarthy from the side line, but the reliable McCarthy missed two simple penalty efforts from in front of the posts. Keohane kicked a penalty and a Dave Hennessy try two minutes from time decided the contest.

Waterpark picked up maximum points with a 32-15 bonus point home win over Clonakilty.
Clonakilty led 15-14 at half time with a try from Rob Howick and a penalty try. Mark Purcell kicked a conversion and a penalty. Kevin Phelan and Ben Cross scored tries for Waterpark and Geoff Deegan converted both.
Robbie Walsh and Dave Pierce added second half tries for Waterpark and Deegan added a conversion and two penalties.

Abbeyfeale extended their lead in Division Two after their 13-9 away win over Ballincollig. Ger Walsh was Abbeyfeale’s try scorer and Steve Daly converted and added two penalties. Charlie Boland replied with three penalties for Ballincollig.

Kinsale kept their challenge on track with a 23-7 win over unbeaten Cobh Pirates under the new floodlights in Kinsale. Pat O’Regan and Joe Moriarty were Kinsale’s try scorers and Sean Kingston kicked two conversions and three penalties. Alan Langford replied with a try for Cobh and Rory Geary converted.

Presentation defeated Newport 25-5 to move into second place. Alan Airey and Andrew Gardner were try scorers for Pres’ who were also awarded a penalty try. Craig Airey kicked two conversions and two penalties. Leo Burette replied with a try for the visitors.

Thurles defeated Tralee 46-18 at the Kerry venue. Adrian Bourke scored two tries for the Tipperary side and Paddy Phelan, Colm Skeehan, Shane Lanigan Ryan, Ciaran Ryan and Aidan Dwyer got one apiece. Dwyer kicked a penalty and four conversions.

Charleville defeated bottom side Dungarvan 27-13. Matt O’Neill opened the scoring with a try for Charleville, but David Hickey hit back with a penalty for Dungarvan.
Willie O’Sullivan scored the visitors second try and a second Hickey penalty left it 10-6.
A second try from O’Neill converted by Shane O’Sullivan left Charleville 17-6 ahead at half time.
Luke McCormack and Eoin McMahon scored second half tries for Charleville and Lar Houlihan got a consolation try for Dungarvan and Hickey converted.

Youghal have gone top in Division Three after their 33-8 away win over Bantry Bay. Brendan Mackey and Stephen Kelly each scored two tries for Youghal and Scott O’Sullivan and Jimmy Barron got one. Aaron Daly kicked a penalty.
Jimmy Griffin replied with a try for Bantry and Sean McCarthy added a penalty.

Five penalties from Ian Smith earned Crosshaven a 15-5 home win over Douglas-Carrigaline. Shane McCarty was the visitors try scorer.

Killorglin won the Kerry derby defeating Chorca Dhuibhne 13-8 at Ballydavid. Andrew O’Reilly and Tony Lynch were try scorers for Killorglin and Luke O’Shea kicked a penalty.
Ciaran O Coileain replied with a try for the Kerry Gaeltacht side and Seamus Moriarty added a penalty.

Fermoy defeated Fethard 22-16. A try from John McCarthy and a conversion and a penalty by Dylan Lacey gave Fermoy a 10-8 half time lead. Kieran Power scored a try for the Tipperary side and Declan Doyle kicked a penalty.
Two tries from Eddie O’Connell and a Lacey conversion secured the points for Fermoy. Tommy Gahan scored a second half try for the visitors and Doyle added another penalty.

Dolphin defeated Highfield 8-5 in their top of the table clash in the Junior 2 League South.
Aidan Foley scored a try for the winners and Stephen Morrissey added a penalty.
Paddy Butler was Highfield’s try scorer.
