Highlights: Munster 12-8 Connacht

Check out the highlights as the Munster Women’s team, sponsored by Keanes jewellers, beat Connacht 12-8 at Irish Independent Park on Saturday.

Flying wingers Eimear Considine and Deirbhile Nic A Bhaird ran in first half tries with full-back Edel Murphy landing a conversion (report here). The victory made it two wins from two for Munster after last week's victory away to Ulster.

Elsewhere, Leinster recored a bonus-point 46-0 victory over Ulster in Donnybrook to set up a winner-takes-all encounter against Munster in Dublin next week.

Despite losing 12 -8 to defending champions Munster, Connacht earned a losing bonus point that gives them a slim chance of glory next Saturday. Munster are in pole position in the race for the top, leading by two points from Leinster who have six, but Connacht are just a point behind them in third.

Speaking to Irish Rugby TV afterwards, Munster captain Siobhán Fleming said: "We did very well in the first half and the start of the second half, but come the latter part of the second half, we were under serious pressure and we did very well to hold them out there in the end.

"Credit to Connacht, their line speed was excellent. They gave us no room to manoeuvre. I suppose we played into them, we didn't take that to our advantage and start moving them around the park – we started playing straight-up rugby. So that's something we'll have to bring back to the drawing board and address for Leinster next weekend."
