Great Start For Munster U20s

Munster U20s came away with an 18-17 win over Ulster tonight in Queens University, Belfast in their Interprovincial opening fixture.

Young Munster fullback Dave O’Mahony touched down in the first half to open the scoring but narrowly failed to convert.

Ulster then leveled with a try of their own before O’Mahony nosed his side back in front with a penalty kick to give Munster a half time 8-5 advantage.

Munster’s points in the second half came from a try to Shannon No. 8 John Foley on the 62nd minute converted by O’Mahony.

A Bill Johnston (Garryowen) penalty followed to claim a hard fought 18-17 victory over the championship holders.
