Falvey Names Munster Women’s Squad To Face Connacht

Munster Women Head Coach Wayne Falvey has named his squad to face Connacht on Saturday, 22nd August, in their first Interprovincial match of the season.

The side, captained by Niamh Briggs, will travel to Galway as they set out to retain their championship title for the second year in a row.

Full back Valerie Power from Shannon will claim her first Munster cap along with Highfield’s Ellen Murphy who starts in the scrum-half position.

The starting XV includes seven players from Highfield with three players representing UL Bohemian.

Tralee’s back row combination of Siobhán Fleming and Ciara Griffin have also been named along with fellow club player Laura O’Mahony who starts on the wing.

Uncapped players Chloe Pearse from Shannon and UL Bohs’ Edel Murphy have been named on the bench and join Abbeyfeale’s Maura Collins. Zoe Grattage, Niamh English, Róisín Ormond, Mona Fehily and Jayne Pennefather from Highfield have also been named on the replacements.
