Extended Interpro Series For Munster U18 Clubs

The current Munster U18 Clubs squad (2012/13) are completing this season in an extended interprovincial series which will take place over the coming two weeks.

First up is against Connacht in Galway on Saturday, 12th January (ko 1pm). The winner of this match will play the winner of Ulster v Leinster to decide the title on Saturday, 19th January in Mullingar RFC. The losers of the two matches will square off for third and fourth place on the same day.

The purpose of the extended series this season is to facilitate the Ireland U18 Clubs' selectors who will take a combined provincial squad to Paris this March to compete in the annual FIRA (Federation International Rugby Association) championship.

The Munster U18 Club management team oversaw training sessions for both their 2013/14 preliminary squad and 2012/13 squad at CIT, Cork, last Thursday joining the U18 Schools, U19 and U20 extended squads on the first day of their interprovincial selection process.

Both the Munster U18 youths and U18 school squads concluded the day by competing against each other in a friendly match as part of the player fitness testing module.

All squads (U20, U19, U18 Clubs and Schools) will be reduced over the coming months and the final selection day will take place in April. Selected players will then attend the five week Munster Talent Camp programme in preparation for the interprovincial series this coming September.
