Cork Constitution Into Bateman Cup Final

Holders Cork Constitution are on course for a third successive All Ireland Bateman Cup Final after a convincing victory at Dubarry Park over Connacht champions Buccaneers.

An impressive performance by the holders as they ran in five tries and booked their place in the final for a third successive season.

Tries from Rob Jermyn and Niall Kenneally both converted by Tomas Quinlan had the visitors 14-10 ahead at half time.

Two minutes into the second half Darren Sweetnam scored Con’s third try and Quinlan again converted.
Quinlan then added a drop goal and tries by Darragh Lyons and Alan Ross extended Con’s advantage to 36-13.

Buccaneers scored two late tries.

Cork Constitution will now face Clontarf who beat Ballynahinch 24-20 in the final on Saturday 18th April.
