Clubs To Maximise Rugby World Cup With Impact Programme

The IRFU have introduced a number of initiatives designed to make clubs ‘THE’ place to support the men in green for the World Cup in England 2015.

The IMPACT workshops, which will bring clubs together to identify and discuss ways to promote their club during the tournament, kicks off in Thomond Park this coming Monday 18th August and Irish Independent Park on Tuesday, 19th August, with all clubs invited to take part. Please contact Anne Marie Hughes of the IRFU on 01-6473810 or email impactRWC@irishrugby.ie

In addition to these workshops, the union are planning a national underage blitz at the Aviva Stadium on the day Ireland take on France, and have developed a special Rugby World Cup promotional pack, in partnership with the IRFU and World Cup sponsors DHL, that will be delivered to every club in September.

To encourage youth participation in volunteer initiatives within clubs, the IRFU are also developing a World Cup Youth Ambassador programme.

The aim of the project is to recruit enthusiastic youth volunteers to increase participation in local rugby clubs across the country. Working closely with a club mentor, the Youth Ambassador will lead a series of social rugby events across a variety of age groups.
