This year Kilfeacle & District RFC were saddened by the loss of one of our founding members, club stalwart and dear friend Ger Cooney. Ger was instrumental in Kilfeacle & District RFC being founded, he was an active club member in all aspects in the running of our club and his family are still very much involved today. To mark Ger's passing his family would like to remember Ger by presenting the club with the "Ger Cooney Memorial Cup" and we in turn are honoured to run a Tag Rugby Festival in Ger's name.

Tag Rugby is a non-contact game; it's all about fun and participation. With a mixed squad of 10 players 7 male 3 female, 7 play on the team at any one time and players are rotated so everyone gets involved. It caters for all adults, regardless of ability. You can be a beginner or you can be experienced, it doesn't matter! Mixed Social Tag is the most popular in the country and perfect for rookie players new to the game and teams as interested in what happens off the pitch, as what materialises on it!!!

It caters for all adults, regardless of ability. You can be a beginner or you can be experienced, it doe ed. It caters for all adults, regardless of ability. You can be a beginner or you can be experienced, it doesn't matter!
You can become involved in our Tag Rugby Festival in many ways. As a player: you can register to play individually and we will find a team for you, or you can register a team yourself. As an employer: you can register your company team and give them fun and networking opportunities for the summer. As a sponsor: you can sponsor a team, or you can sponsor a ball if you wish or place an advertisement in our Festival Day Programme.

To enter a team costs €;200. You can sponsor a ball for €;50. To advertise in our programme €;50 per Ad

After your on-field tag games you can relax and enjoy a BBQ and refreshments. We will have the presentation of prizes with music and full bar facilities to follow topping off an enjoyable day for all. We would hope that as many past members and players will attend and support the event. It will be a chance for all to catch up with players and members you may not have meet with in many years.

Exciting developments at Muskerry Rugby Club – New pitch development underway

Muskerry Rugby Club recently began work on their new pitch development project at our grounds in Inniscarra Community Centre. This project will transform what is currently our second pitch into a state of the art sand-based surface with adjoining training area. This project is being aided by Sports Capital Funding Scheme and will provide a pitch that will be playable in all weathers meaning cancellations due to waterlogging should become a thing of the past. This fantastic new playing surface will be ready for the start of the 2017/18 season. In conjunction with this development, the club has leased an adjoining field to provide an additional playing area to cater for our growing under age rugby section.

Pre- season training every Tuesday and Thursday

The start of the season is only around the corner and pre-season training for adults has commenced every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm. New and returning members are welcome to come along. Mini rugby training returns on Saturday September 3rd at 10.30 a.m. and our youth teams are also back in action.

New players welcome

If you are new to the area, or would like to give rugby a try, why not come along to our grounds at Inniscarra Community Centre? We are within 10 minutes of Blarney and Ballincollig, have 2 adult teams, a thriving underage section, three pitches, and a modern clubhouse with a gym. No previous experience is required: just enthusiasm, boots, shorts, a jersey and a gum shield. We would be delighted to welcome new members to our ambitious, growing club.
