Charity Cup Win For UL Bohs

In the opening game in the Limerick Charity Cup, U.L. Bohemian defeated Bruff at Annacotty 26-13 and will now face the winners of the Nenagh Ormond v Young Munster tie in the semi finals next week.

The First Division side led 15-7 at half time with tries from Joe Murray and Jamie McNamara. Robbie Burns kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Bruff were awarded a penalty try which David O’Grady converted.

Darren Moroney scored a third try for Bohs' in the second half and Burns added two penalties. O’Grady replied with two penalties for Bruff.

The other Charity Cup tie involving Garryowen and Thomond did not take place as Thomond have had some unfortunate injuries in key areas. Garryowen now proceed to the semi-final to meet the winners of the Shannon/Old Crescent tie which will take place on Wednesday 2nd September next.
