CBC Through To Semi Final

Christian Brothers College are through to the semi finals of the Munster Schools Senior Cup, after a powerful second half performance saw them brush aside the challenge of Ard Scoil Rís at the 4G UL Arena.

A superb individual try by Ard Scoil’s out half Conor Fitzgerald saw him give his side the lead with a converted try after eighteen minutes.

Christians scrum half Richard Cassidy scored a try in the corner three minutes later.

A penalty from Fitzgerald had Ard Scoil Rís 10-5 ahead at half time.

The game exploded into life ten minutes into the second half when Christians out half James Taylor got in for a try which he converted for a 12-10 lead.

Ard Scoil replied immediately with a try by Darren Gavin to lead 15-12 in favour of the Limerick side.

Christians were level on fifty one minutes with a Taylor penalty and five minutes later winger Ian Casey scored a try to leave it 20-15 in favour of the visitors.

The Cork side finished the stronger and a second Taylor penalty and a try by substitute JD O’Hea saw Christians book their place in the last four.
