CBC & Glenstal Name Junior Cup Squads

Glenstal Abbey School will travel to Irish Independent Park tomorrow, 2nd March, to take on defending champions Christian Brothers College in the Munster Schools Junior Cup semi final (ko 2.30pm).

The winner will face Crescent College Comprehensive, who claimed their spot in the final today at Irish Independent Park with a 22-0 victory over Presentation Brothers College.

CBC were beaten 17-10 by Crescent in the opening round of the Junior Cup however, through the back-door system, received a bye into the quarter final to face St. Munchin's College in Limerick claiming a 10-7 victory.

Glenstal defeated Castletroy College 14-0 in the opening round and went on to claim a 24-7 quarter final win over Ardscoil Rís.

Christian Brothers College XV: Backs – Thomas Downes; Matthew Soames, Cillian Couthlan, Fergal Conway (Capt), Karl Waterman; Billy Cain, Jack O’Riordan. Forwards – Charlie Rasmussen, Adam Coleman,Mark Donnelly; Aidan Brien, Dylan McAuliffe; Daniel O’Hara, Conor Walsh, Conor O’Sullivan. Replacements: David Good, Niall Hasson, Harry Fitzgerald, Rohan Kiely, Michael Nolan, Sean Kelly, Will Fielding, Donagh Rice.

Glenstal Abbey School XV: Backs – Ronan Quinn; Ronan Hanly; Emmet Aylward, Andrew Hogan, Ruairi Woodcock, Caolan Dooley (Capt.), Briain Leonard. Forwards – Denny Moriarty, Eoghan Fitzgerald, Max Downing; Tiernan Ryan, Jack Wall O’Reilly; Bill Fitzgerald, Michael Gilbride, Padraig Mulligan. Replacements: Matthew Lynch, Conor Butler, Donagh Hyland, William Twomey, Daragh Butler, Marcus Esmonde, Scott McKeown, Jack Collins.
