BOI Munster U18 Clubs Update

29th January 2016 By Munster Rugby

The quarter finals of the Bank of Ireland Munster Under 18 and Under 16 Cups are scheduled for the weekend of 27th and 28th February.

There are three groups in both Cups with the top teams in each group guaranteed home advantage in the quarter finals. The three second-placed teams will also qualify for the quarter finals, with one side guaranteed a home tie.

Two of the three third-placed teams will also qualify for the quarter finals and this will be determined by play-offs if time allows. This is because both competitions have faced severe disruption due to the on-going bad weather that has led to several postponements.

In the Under 18 Cup, Newcastle West-Estuary, Dolphin and Bruff are the unbeaten leaders of their respective sections and they are all on course for home quarter finals.

Skibbereen, Dungarvan and Waterpark currently occupy second place and a draw will be required to determine which side has a home quarter final.

Cashel, Shannon and Sunday’s Well are currently third.

Newcastle West-Estuary and Bandon are currently the joint leaders in their section of the Under 16 Cup and Bruff and Ennis are the other group leaders. Nenagh Ormond and Waterpark are joint second in their section and the other second-placed sides are Skibbereen and Cork Constitution.

Ballincollig, Killorglin and Cobh Pirates currently share third spot in their section and Tralee and Midleton are the other sides currently occupying third place in their groups.
