The club was delighted to be chosen as one of just 16 nationwide to attend the first ever Under 10 Mini Festival being run by the IRFU at the Aviva Stadium. Last Saturday, the team got to follow in the footsteps of their heroes as they played on the hallowed turf of the Aviva Stadium. In glorious sunshine and in front of their big travelling support the young players took this opportunity and played superb rugby in four games against tough competition from clubs from Ardee, Strabane, Carrick on Shannon and Wicklow. It was an amazing opportunity and a fabulous event which also included a tour of the home changing rooms & warm up facilities, a goodie bag and a certificate of participation. There was great excitement when former Munster & Ireland International David Wallace visited the pitch and met all the teams. Please check out the club twitter page @Bantry_Rugby and our Facebook page for videos and photographs from the memorable day.

Girls Rugby School Success in Coláiste Phobal Beanntraí

The club would like to congratulate both school rugby teams that recently contested finals in the Munster School 7s Blitz Finals Day held in Shannon RFC. Both teams were recently acknowledged at the schools awards night. However last week, the club also made the formal presentation of medals to all players who trained and competed this school year and the presentation of a Cup was also made to Laura Cato, winning School Captain & all the junior team. The club would like to acknowledge the success of the schools program and the close link between club & school which is facilitated through the hard work and dedication of Community Rugby Officer Eugene McCarthy.
