Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup Draw

The draw for the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup took place today, 2nd September, at Bank of Ireland, 32 South Mall, Cork.

Munster Rugby President Bertie Smith, Munster Rugby Hon. Secretary Joe Murphy and players Duncan Williams and Dave O’Callaghan made the draw in the presence of Bank of Ireland South West Regional Manager David Merriman and Munster Rugby Senior Club representatives at the 32 South Mall Bank of Ireland branch today.

Holders Cork Constitution begin their defense with an away tie to Highfield. The winners will progress to a home tie in the quarter final stage of the competition against the deciders of Limerick clubs Shannon and Garryowen.

Thomond will host Young Munster and face the winners of UL Bohemian and Cashel while Cork clubs Dolphin and Sunday's Well battle it out with the winner travelling to face either Kanturk or Nenagh.

Cork club Midleton will entertain Old Crescent in the opening round with the winners taking on Bruff or UCC.

The Bank Of Ireland sponsored Munster Senior Cup is Munster’s oldest competition first played in 1886 and claimed by Bandon RFC under the captaincy of Frank Levis.
