Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Senior Cup Roundup

Plenty of drama in the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Cup as Crescent Comp. and Rockwell record victories and C.B.C. and Castletroy College finished level.

C.B.C. 10, Castletroy College 10.
An exciting finish to this tie at Woodleigh Park as Castletroy snatched a dramatic equaliser in the final minute of the game but it is C.B.C. that will have home advantage in the next round.
The sides were level 3-3 at half time. Barry Neville put Castletroy ahead with a penalty and Darragh McNamara equalized for Christians.
The game looked like it was going to remain scoreless in the second half but at the start of extra time out half Brendan Monohan got in for a try for Christians and substitute Dave Riordan converted for a 10-3 lead.
Castletroy College hit back and with the final play of the game William Shanahan scored a try for the Limerick School. Neville missed the conversion but the referee ordered it to be retaken and this time Neville put it between the posts to tie up the scores much to the delight of the visiting supporters.
The Rules of the competition stated that it will be Christians who will have home advantage against the losers of next Sunday’s tie at Temple Hill between PBC and Glenstal Abbey and Castletroy will now face Crescent in the next round.
