Following the vandalism of Thomond Park, Limerick yesterday (September 15th) which severely damaged the pitch, it has been determined that the surface will remain unplayable until October 22nd.

A full assessment of the damage is being undertaken today and following this the exact course of repairs will be established. All scheduled games for Thomond Park during this period will be moved to alternative venues.

The Irish Rugby Football Union and Munster Branch have expressed their total disbelief and condemnation of this random act of vandalism and will be ensuring that the Thomond Park pitch will be reopened as soon as possible.

It means of course that the Celtic League game versus Llanelli Scarlets scheduled for September 23rd will now be moved to Musgrave Park.
