The IRFU are inviting applications for the position of Team Manager for the National Women’s XVs Team. Reporting to the National Women’s Teams Program Manager, the Team Manager role involves work for several camps, Autumn Internationals, warm up matches and the 6 Nations campaign. It is a key management position within the National Women’s XV a-side program and is responsible and accountable for the management of the team, as well as the setting of standards applicable to this high performing team program. There will be 40 contact days in total and 20 office-based days (at the Lansdowne Road office).

TEAM MANAGER – NATIONAL WOMEN’S XVs TEAM JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Reporting to: National Women’s Teams Program Manager
 
Working Relationships:
Head Coach, National Women’s XV Team
Director of Sevens and Women’s Rugby
 
Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of team logistics and operations including working with the National Teams Program Manager and Head Coach on all elements of planning and organization for Matches
  • Team welfare and discipline is to be referred to the National Women’s Teams Program Manager
  • Providing leadership, communication and consultation with players, staff, parents and other team management
  • Close liaison with the Head Coach when in assembly regarding daily and short term team schedules, which includes training, meetings, discipline, team standards and social activities
  • Management of the team budget on tour and its acquittal on return
  • Coordination of training venues and schedules and transport of training equipment etc. when in Assembly
  • Coordinate duty managers’ timetable, responsibilities and duties daily
  • Advising the appropriate dress for team activities when in Assembly. Ensuring team members are outfitted as agreed by the Union, Laws of the Game and sponsors requirements
  • During assembly, liaise regularly with the IRFU Media Division and National Women’s Teams Program Manager in relation to results, team selection and other significant activities
  • Liaison with host Unions and tournament officials as required
  • Coordination of player appearance and representation before any judiciary including sourcing representation if required and in consultation with National Women’s Teams Program Manager
  • Coordination of team ticket allocation
  • Coordination of memorabilia for team signing sessions
  • Attend matches, training sessions on tour and in assembly as directed
  • Perform team sideline duties at all matches
  • Preparation of detailed reports including a financial balance sheet
  • Team Management and Logistics review and recommendations report

 
Requirements:

  • Handover meeting with National Women’s Teams Program Manager prior to each squad session, Autumn Internationals, warm up games and Six Nations
  • Review meeting with National Women’s Teams Program Manager after each camp, Autumn Internationals, warm up game and Six Nations games
  • Collection of all kit & equipment bags from number 62 Lansdowne Road for all camps & games
  • Return of all kit & equipment to number 62
