Action shots from last night’s European Champions Cup clash at Thomond Park that saw Munster suffer a 19-31 defeat to Leicester Tigers in Round 3 of the competition. The result sees Munster slip to third on the Pool 4 table ahead of next Sunday’s return encounter at Welford Road – KO 5.15pm.

Speaking after last night’s game, a disappointed Head Coach Anthony Foley said, “It’s not good enough across everything, not good enough across the last three weeks and not good enough tonight.

“We gave away probably three of the softest tries we’ve ever conceded. The first one they got off the reversal of a penalty (a decision Foley deemed extremely harsh) and in fairness to Leicester they rode on the back of it and got a couple of tries going into half time.

“Across the scrum and maul Leicester beat us fair and square and we didn’t take our opportunities. A couple of times we made some good breaks but then probably kicked away too much ball, gave away a couple of soft turnovers and failed to put pressure on Tigers.

“It’s a hard defeat to take.”

The Head Coach will now hope for a reaction and marked improvement from his side as Munster travel to Welford Road next Sunday December 20^th for the return fixture at Welford Road – KO 5.15pm.
