Munster Announce Charity Partners

Munster Rugby are pleased to announce CMRF Crumlin and Headway as their nominated charities for 2015/16.

Over the season Munster Rugby will be working closely with each charity, providing them with active support on specific projects and will work to help them raise awareness and funds for projects in Ireland.

Commenting on the announcement Claire Cooke, Munster Rugby CSR Project Manager said, “As with every season, it’s never easy to choose between the many deserving charities that apply to us. Through the involvement of players, matchday interaction, a dedicated charity match and the association of the Munster Rugby brand, this season we hope that we can make a real difference for CMRF Crumlin and Headway. Both charities provide an invaluable service and we look forward to working with them.”

CMRF Crumlin
CMRF Crumlin is the principal fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin as well as the National Children’s Research Centre and is dedicated to working to improve the quality of life for this and future generations of sick children. They are driven in their belief that “Every sick child deserves every chance.”

The charity plays a key role in supporting the hospital funding, to deliver state of the art facilities, equipment, and infrastructure, accommodation for families and other special requirements and needs for some of Ireland’s sickest children.

Also, they are the principle funder of vital paediatric research in Ireland through the research programmes at The National Children’s Research Centre (NCRC), a world class facility which provides state of the art laboratory facilities for investigation into the causes and treatments of childhood disease.

CMRF Crumlin needs to raise €;12 million per year to fund the needs of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and The National Children’s Research Centre.

In addition, Ronan O’Gara and Jonathan Sexton’s legendary battle for the Number 10 jersey has taken a new turn as they join forces with CMRF Crumlin to help give every sick child, every chance, every time.

The No. 10 Fund will see these two former rivals raise funds for the thousands of children who attend The Children’ Heart Centre in Crumlin every year.

Help these big-hearted heroes in their battle to raise the funds needed to help mend some of Ireland’s tiniest hearts.
