Vacancy: IRFU Business Intelligence Analyst

The IRFU is inviting applications for the role of Business Intelligence Analyst. Answering to the IRFU Performance Director, the successful candidate will advise on how to leverage solutions to drive innovation, improve outcomes & reshape or optimise existing business practises in the Performance Department. The role will be heavily involved from project inception through to implementation & delivery across a wide variety of Performance Department areas.

KEY QUALITIES

Essential

  • Recognised degree or diploma in a Finance or Business discipline;
  • Project Management qualification – Prince 2, PMP, Agile preferable;
  • Minimum of 7 years Business Analysis / Project Management experience;
  • Proven track record in an environment as a Business Analyst;
  • Proven ability to manage a set of multi concurrent projects;
  • Ability to think & plan strategically;
  • Strong team player with a high degree of flexibility;
  • Demonstrated ability in business process improvement;
  • Proven ability to manage the requirements process for large projects and budgets which operate under constant pressure to meet tight deadlines;
  • Experience in both a Business & Sports Industry;
  • Experience working at a senior level in the delivery of small & large projects;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to identify expected deliverables from various stakeholders;
  • Ability to work on your own initiative;
  • Strong influencing & negotiation skills;
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Problem solving & decision making.


Desirable

  • Knowledge of Rugby;
  • SQL skill.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Control, monitor and report on business activities;
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business needs, set expectations & identify business improvement opportunities;
  • Engage with the Finance Team in terms of all budgeting requirements within the Performance Department & analysis of same;
  • Develop & maintain a detailed understanding of each Department Head’s function & their processes;
  • Perform detailed system & process analysis for new business projects;
  • Translate business requirements into clear, concise & detailed documents appropriate for the department;
  • Report building & writing including Financial & KPI reporting, Strategy & Policy writing
  • Data Analysis & Modelling across all Performance areas;
  • Regular project management work which will include Strategic Plan Implementation, Talent ID & Player Tracking Systems;
  • Data Analysis & Benchmarking in the area of Player contracting;
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Performance Director.


PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Maintain effective relationships with various staff within the Department and the IRFU;
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities as mentioned above to an effective and efficient standard;
  • Make effective and informed decisions in relation to the role and the Department.


SALARY

€;60,000 – €;70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
