Walsh Wary Of Warriors

Walsh Wary Of Warriors

"They have been the form side of the PRO12 so far." Munster Assistant Coach Brian Walsh looks ahead to Saturday’s encounter as 1st meet 3rd in Round 10 of the Guinness PRO12.

A good travelling record has seen Munster win every away game in the league so far this season, a record which Walsh feels Munster will have to work hard to maintain this weekend.

“Glasgow have definitely been the form side of the PRO12 so far. They’ve had a similar fortnight to us in terms of losing to Toulouse twice and being close to them both times.

“Obviously us going over to Glasgow, there’s a bit of history there, and I’m sure at home Warriors will be looking to get their PRO12 campaign back up and running and flowing with the confidence that they’ve been playing with so far this season.

“It’s a very tough task to head to a place like Scotstoun, and coming out of the intensity of Europe can put a strain on your squad – the knocks and bangs and the short turnaround – but we got the review of Clermont out of the way and we’re now very focused on putting in a performance in Glasgow and hopefully getting a result.”

While playing an attractive brand of running rugby, Warriors also have the capability to win the battle up front, something which Munster prop Stephen Archer alluded to at yesterday’s press conference.

“They’re a pretty formidable pack, with an all international front row and a few on the bench as well. There’s no doubting we’ll have our work cut out for us this weekend, but they are the games you want to play in and we’re looking forward to it.”

Glasgow Warriors v Munster, Guinness PRO12 Round 10, Saturday December 20th at Scotstoun Stadium – KO 2:40pm.

This game will be televised on Sky Sports 1 with coverage starting at 2:30pm.
