Latest Video: Keepy-Uppys For Blue September

Munster player and Blue September ambassador Johne Murphy today rounded up his teammates to ‘keep up’ the fight against men’s cancer by playing ‘keepy-uppy’ with a rugby ball.

Blue September is part of an international campaign that seeks to tackle the fact that men are more likely to develop and die of cancer than women and that men are less likely to discuss their personal health concerns with family, friends or their GP.

Blue September is a fun way of delivering this message and in these, the final days of the campaign, Murphy is urging everyone play ‘keepy-uppy’ at www.blueseptember.ie and donate to the initiative.

“There are so many stories of ‘if only he had sought treatment sooner’. The earlier cancer is caught the more treatable it is so we need to get the message out there that men need to keep on top of things and get regular check-ups, check themselves and if they find something act straight away and get it seen to.”

To make the ‘keepy-uppys’ even more interesting, the Kildare native and his Munster team-mates Conor Murray, Dave Foley and Simon Zebo attempted them with a rugby ball. See who claimed the bragging rights here:
