Munster exited the RaboDirect PRO12 Play-Offs on Friday night by the narrowest of margins. No away team has ever won a PRO12 semi-final, however the province came close, just losing out 16-15 in what was to become their last game under Head Coach Rob Penney and Backs Coach Simon Mannix.

With tries from Damien Varley and Sean Dougall, the match also marked the final appearance in a Munster shirt for Casey Laulala and James Downey, with Laulala picking up his 50^th Munster cap on the night.
