Munster recorded a 32-23 bonus point win away to Connacht on Saturday night and returned to second place in the RaboDirect PRO12 standings.

With tries from Andrew Conway, Gerhard van den Heever, Denis Hurley and Paddy Butler Munster secured the vital bonus point victory against inprovincial rivals Connacht at the Sportsground.

With a clean bill of health to report after the game, and a six minute spell at out-half for Conor Murray, Head Coach Rob Penney was pleased with the result saying, "Those that needed a bit more footy got that. Those who needed a rest have got that and we couldn’t have asked for a better performance or a better outcome given the distractions of next week. No injuries, five points, pretty pleased."

With the focus now switching to Heineken Cup knock-out rugby the New Zealander was quick to point out the challenge that lies ahead next weekend. "We're going to have to play the best game we've ever played. Some individuals are going to have to go beyond where they have been before."

Semi-final opponents Toulon were also in action at the weekend, with the ideal preparation when they recorded a 46-31 victory away to Perpignan.
