Kilcoyne Gives RaboDirect PRO12 Masterclass

Wednesday’s sunshine provided the ideal setting as 15 kids from across the province were treated to a RaboDirect PRO12 Masterclass with Munster Rugby’s Dave Kilcoyne.

Winners were selected from digital competitions ran by RaboDirect PRO12, providing each of the young, aspiring rugby players with an insight of what it’s like to be a professional player.

The fun filled day began with a tour of Thomond Park stadium, learning about players past and present in the Munster Rugby Museum, before following the footsteps of their heroes, from the dressing room, down the tunnel and onto the pitch.

Following that it was off to the UL Arena where the kids enjoyed lunch and Aled Walters, Strength & Conditioning Coach gave insights to the player’s weekly nutritional and conditioning plans.

Excitement built as each winner was given a Masterclass pack for their training session, with Munster prop Dave Kilcoyne joining the group for the field session with Community Rugby Office Amanda Greensmith leading the way. After the rugby skills and drills were done and dusted Kicoyne joined the winners for photos with the RaboDirect PRO12 Trophy and remained on to sign autographs with the participants.
