Working Towards Warriors Encounter

Munster trained in Limerick today ahead of Saturday evening’s clash at home to Glasgow Warriors in the RaboDirect PRO12.

Hoping to continue their unbeaten run at home in the league, Munster will need a strong performance as Glasgow find themselves in a rich vein of form, looking to make it four wins on the trot. They also come to Thomond Park with a game in hand over their hosts and as it's still possible for them to take second in the table and secure a home semi-final, Warriors will be massively up for this game.

The fact that no Scottish side has won on Munster soil since Warriors themselves defeated Munster at Musgrave Park in 2008, makes a win this weekend all the more appealing for the visitors. That said Warriors have beaten Munster just once in their last eight meetings.

Peter O'Mahony remains absent as he awaits news on a shoulder injury picked up just minutes into Munster's win over Toulouse last weekend. He will meet with a specialist later this evening for further prognosis on the injury.

The news about Casey Laulala is positive after he met with a specialist for a fractured bone in his right hand. Head Coach Rob Penney confirmed the centre will be in plaster for the next 10 days and is expected to return to training the week of the Toulon game.

Penney was also upbeat about the possible return of Donnacha Ryan, hoping that the Tipperary man will be back in contention for semi-final stage also.

Meanwhile, it's been confirmed that current Munster backs coach Simon Mannix will join French outfit Pau at the end of the season. Based in the South West of France, Pau currently compete in French Rugby Pro D2 and Mannix joins them as Director of Rugby.

Munster v Glasgow Warriors, Sat Apr 12, KO: 6:30.
