Munster Development XV To Face Enisei STM

A Munster Development XV squad will play Russian club side Enisei-STM this Wednesday at Musgrave Park.

A Munster Development XV squad will play Russian club side Enisei-STM this Wednesday at Musgrave Park, Cork.

The game kicks off at 7pm and is free to all supporters.

Enisei-STM have played Munster on three previous occasions, against an A side in Nenagh, 2009 and against Development sides in Dooradoyle and Bruff in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Munster were victorious in the first two games but the touring side fronted a physical and challenging battle each time and last year earned their first victory over Munster. In keeping with previous encounters the game was closely fought with Enisey eventually winning out 28-20.

This week the tourists will be keen to make amends for a heavy loss to Connacht Eagles last Saturday which saw the home team run in eight trys – Connacht Eagles 54 Enisey-STM 21

Munster for their part will see a strong Development XV take to the field made up of Greencore Munster Rugby Academy players and club players. Valuable British and Irish Cup experience gained by some academy players should help bolster the home side which is under the stewardship of Greig Oliver and Colm McMahon – Elite Player Development Officer.

Munster Development XV v Enisei-STM, Musgrave Park, Cork. KO: 7pm.
