Trio Nominated For Heineken Cup Squad

Gerhard van den Heever, Quentin MacDonald and Gerry Hurley have been nominated as the three additional players Munster are looking to add to their Heineken Cup squad.

South African Van den Heever is included after impressing since his move from Western Province in November. The speedy winger has scored two tries in five PRO12 games and the 24-year-old has also added three tries in two B&I Cup appearances for Munster A.

New Zealand Maori international MacDonald is a new addition to the squad having joined at the start of the month. The hooker signed a three-month contract with Munster and awaits his first senior appearance although the 25-year-old did play an interprovincial game for Munster A against Connacht Eagles two weeks ago.

Scrum-half Hurley is added to the squad after making two appearances in the PRO12 this season. The 29-year-old plays his club rugby for Cork Con and captained the Ireland Club side to victories over Scotland and England last month.

Munster face Toulouse in the Heineken Cup quarter-final at Thomond Park on Saturday, April 5th at 1:30pm.

Rob Penney’s side host Treviso at Thomond Park on Saturday night at 7:15pm as they look to regain top sopt in the RaboDirect PRO12 with tickets available online here.
