Rallying Call For Support

The countdown begins for Sunday and the messages of support are rolling in and twitter is abuzz with best wishes as Munster prepare for their must win Heineken Cup pool game against Racing Metro in Thomond Park, ko 12.45pm.

Despite the early hour we know we can count on our supporters on the day to raise the noise levels in welcoming Racing Metro to Thomond Park for their very first Heineken Cup experience at the Limerick venue.

We caught up with some of the players following their morning training session in UL today to talk about the significance of match day support.

Donnacha Ryan: “Last weekend the support over in Edinburgh was fantastic, running out in Murrayfield to a wall of red was amazing. Now this Sunday when we run out we are going to see the four walls of Thomond covered in red and we know our supporters will shout the house down so we’re looking forward to it."

BJ Botha: “This weekend is a big game for us, our last chance pool game of the Heineken Cup, and we really appreciate you guys getting behind us throughout the game and we look forward to seeing you there and putting in a big performance.”

Conor Murray: “It’s got a feeling of those great Munster classics, like against Gloucester. People coming up to you on the street already and it’s only Wednesday, telling us good luck, and that they’re going to be there in numbers on the day. It’s going to be a huge day with a huge reward at the end of it if everything goes alright so we certainly need that 16th man to drive us on.”

Ian Keatley: “We are all really looking forward to Heineken Cup Sunday and hoping the crowd will give Racing a warm welcome in true Thomond fashion!"

We will be using the following hashtag for Sunday's game on Twitter, #MunRac
