Opposition Watch

Munster’s Heineken Cup Opponents, London Irish, Toulon and Ospreys all recorded impressive wins at the weekend.

First up for Munster in a fortnight will be London Irish and they simply toyed with Newcastle Falcons, winning 46-12 at Kingston Park with Topsy Ojo helping himself to a hat-trick of tries. The bonus point win puts Irish on top of the table, one point clear of Northampton Saints. They'll complete their preparations for Munster's visit in ideal circumstances with the game against bottom of the pile Leeds Carnegie at The Madejski Stadium next Saturday.

Jonny Wilkinson continues to play a central role in Toulon's progress in the French Top 14. He kicked 16 points in their 26-3 win over struggling Borgoin.  They're home to fifth from bottom Castres next weekend.

Tommy Bowe was among the try scorers in Ospreys  38-6 bonus point win over Aironi Rugby at The Liberty Stadium. The Magners League champions also scored two push over tires and next Saturday they travel up the motorway to play Scarlets.
