Meteor to Partner Munster Rugby

Today Meteor joined Munster Rugby as an official partner in a three year deal up to the end of the 2012/13 season.

The new partnership will be the flagship sport sponsorship for Meteor, building on the four year long association with the Meteor Munster Sevens Tournament, which has been held annually in August.

Garrett Fitzgerald, Munster Rugby CEO, said: “I’m pleased that after four years of sponsoring the Meteor Munster Sevens tournament that Meteor have chosen to further develop their relationship with Munster Rugby by becoming an official Partner through to 2013. We pride ourselves in building long term relationships with our partners and look forward to working with the Meteor team in Munster to help deliver their business objectives.”

Commenting on the partnership, John Penberthy Smith, Commercial Director for Meteor, added: “We’re delighted to become a proud fan and partner to Munster Rugby. As Ireland’s most successful rugby province Munster has captured the imagination of the nation and we look forward to some exciting times ahead as we journey with them through the next three seasons. We pride ourselves on being “your social network” and have ambitious plans to bring this sponsorship to life for our customers and Munster Rugby fans.”

An interactive and exclusive Meteor Munster Rugby micro site will be launched shortly, giving customers and Munster fans access to additional photo’s and news from a “fans perspective”.

Meteor is set to announce more exciting developments to celebrate the sponsorship – supporters can follow tweets on twitter @meteormobile, or become a facebook friend at www.facebook.com/meteor to find out more.
