Alan Quinlan to Join the Barbarians

Alan Quinlan has been named to join his Munster colleagues Jean de Villiers, Paul Warwick and Doug Howlett when they line out for the Barbarians this summer.

The Munster players representing the Barbarians will feel right at home when they take on Declan Kidney’s Ireland side in Thomond Park on Friday the 4th of June in the MasterCard Trophy.

The Barbarians commence their 2010 summer tour against England at Twickenham on Sunday May 30th and make their way to Limerick the following week.

The side will be coached by Philippe Saint-Andre and other players that have been included in the squad include England internationals Danny Cipriani and Paul Sackey, and All Blacks Jerry Collins and Carl Hayman.

Barbarians’ president Micky Steele-Bodger said, “Such a demanding itinerary places the onus on us to assemble top quality individuals from around the world and, once again, we are encouraged by the readiness of such players to accept invitations to join us.”

“More names will be announced after the teams involved in the various end-of-season competitions in Europe and the Super 14 finals in the southern hemisphere are finalised.”
