Munster Announce Their Side For A Interprovincial

Former Under 20 international captain Peter O’Mahony will lead Munster in their A Interprovincial clash with Connacht at Thomond Park Stadium tomorrow evening (6.30pm).

It’s a Munster side that sees the welcome return from injury of wing Ciaran O’Boyle and prop Dave Ryan to a squad largely comprising Academy, sub-Academy and Club players.

O’Boyle  hasn’t worn the Munster shirt since limping out of the Magners League game against Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade nearly a year ago with a hamstring injury. He scored a 12th minute that day to add to the one he scored on his debut in Munster’s previous game, the 28-14 victory over Edinburgh at Musgrave Park.

Ryan made his Munster debut in the final Magners League game of last season when he came on as a replacement for Federico Pucciariello in the 36-10 win over the Ospreys but because of an elbow injury, hasn’t featured for Munster since impressing in the pre-season friendlies.

Munster will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the Interprovincial Championship following earlier season wins over Leinster and Ulster while tomorrow’s game also provides the ideal lead-in to British & Irish Cup competition that resumes next week with a game against Nottingham in Waterford Regional Sports Ground.

Munster: D Riordan; C O’Boyle, D Barnes, T Gleeson, R O’Mahony (Garryowen); D Cusack, P Rowley; D Ryan, S Henry (UL Bohs), S Archer; E Kelly (UL Bohs), D Foley; D Sherry (Garryowen), E Grace, P O’Mahony capt. Replacements: D Varley, Pa O’Regan, B Holland, T O’Donnell, C Murray, M Kelliher (Richmond), S Scanlon (UCC), S Duggan (Shannon), I Dineen (UCC).
