Introducing Toby Morland

26 years of age, Toby Morland was drafted into the Munster squad to cover for Tomas O’Leary while he returns to fitness. He was scrumhalf on the Waikato Chiefs side beaten in the Super 14 final back in June.

He made an impressive start against Sale Sharks and once again partners his New Zealand compatriot Jeremy Manning – they both attended Marlborough Boys High School – in tomorrow’s clash with London Irish at Musgrave Park (7pm).

Birthplace: Oamaru, New Zealand.

Currently Residing: Limerick.

Education: Marlborough Boys High School, Otago University.Degree in PE; Commerce (major in finance)

First started playing rugby: As a 12 year old.

Sportsperson admire most: Scott Dixon.

Toughest oponent: All South African teams.

Career highlight to date: Super 14 final (pity about the result).

Favourite other sport: Rugby League.

Favourite team outside rugby: Manly Sea Eagles.

Hobbies: Travelling; Spending time with family and friends; DVDs; Reading; Cooking.

Best part of being a pro rugby player: Being outside everyday.

Worst part of being pro rugby player: Contact training.

Worst job you ever had: Cherry picking.

Person you would most like to meet: Shantaram.

Pet hate: Being kept waiting.

Sporting event you’d most like to attend: Premiership football game.

Favourite food: Anything my wife cooks!

Best place you’ve visited: Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

What you see yourself doing when rugby career is over: Stay home dad; Golfing.

Three people you’d invite to dinner and why: Jessica Alba for her looks! Jason Statham and Clint Eastwood as would have great yarns over few beers.
