Scoil Eoin, Ballincollig, Co. Cork weclomed Munster Rugby players Brian Carney and Denis Hurley to their school last week, as the Munster Winners of the Bank of Ireland Rugby Heros Competition.

Bank of Ireland teamed up with Munster Rugby earlier in the year to launch the nationwide competition.

Open to Primary school classes the competition requested students to submit an original piece of photography that captured the meaning of team spirit. Entries included action packed rugby shots, tempting pictures of tasty cakes iced in full rugby regalia and human rugby ball formations captured on the pitch – all demonstrating the key role each member of their class plays in contributing towards “Team Spirit”.

Scoil Eoin were worthy winners of the prize and hence got the chance to meet their heros, Munster Players, Brian Carney and Denis Hurley.  They also received a signed team jersey, which they will display with pride, and each member of the winning class received a special rugby pack from Bank of Ireland.

Laura Lynch of Bank of Ireland said, “We were delighted with all the creative entries we received which demonstrate how many young rugby fans there are around Ireland. Bank of Ireland’s association with Irish Rugby spans a decade of support and are the official bank to Munster Rugby.”
