Following their 24-14 victory over Edinburgh in Thomond Park on Saturday evening Munster will now face Leinster in the semi-final of the Celtic Cup in Lansdowne Road on Sunday next (5.30pm).

Munster were forced to come from behind – they trailed 14-7 at the interval – and tries from Anthony Horgan and skipper Anthony Foley eased them through to face a Leinster side who defeated Glasgow on Friday night.

As has become the norm in recent games, Munster kept their supporters on tenterhooks as they defended a slim 17-14 lead for the final half hour. They might have given themselves more breathing space if Donncha O Callaghan had managed to gather a clever Paul Burke cross field kick but as it turned out it needed that Foley try, deep in injury time to see off the strong Edinburgh challenge.

Tickets for the semi-final clash will go on sale early next week in Musgrave Park and Thomond Park and cash will also be taken at the Lansdowne Road turnstiles on the day.
