O’Connell To Face Charge

It has been confirmed that Munster lock Paul O’Connell has been reported by the independent Citing Commissioner Paul Mauriac (France) for an incident during Saturday’s game against Wales.

A press release issued by 6 Nations Discipline Officer, Jon Davis read; The Six Nations Committee today confirmed that Italian No 3 Salvatore Perugini has been cited by independent Citing Commissioner Ken Pattinson (England) for an incident during the RBS 6 Nations Italy v France match at Stadio Flamino on Saturday, 19 March.

They also confirmed that a complaint had been received from the independent Citing Commissioner Paul Mauriac (France) against Irish No 5 Paul O’Connell for an incident during the RBS 6 Nations Wales v Ireland match at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, 19th March.

In accordance with IRB Regulation 17 a hearing will be held on Wednesday, 23 March, with the three-man Discipline Committee chaired by Lorne Crerar (Scotland).
