O’Connell Facing Disciplinary Hearing

Munster lock Paul O’Connell will travel to London on Wednesday to face a three man Discipline Committee chaired by Lorne Crerar (Scotland) after being cited for an incident on Saturday

Munster lock Paul O’Connell will travel to London on Wednesday to face a three man Discipline Committee chaired by Lorne Crerar (Scotland) after being cited for a incident involving Robert Sidoli in Saturday’s match in Cardiff.

O’Connell and Sidoli got involved in a touchline fracas that referee Chris White felt required only a stern lecture to both players before allowing play resume. However, the independent Citing Commissioner, Frenchman Paul Mauriac, obviously felt differently and instead of being with his Munster colleagues preparing for the upcoming Heineken Cup quarter final against Biarritz, O’Connell must take himself to a London Heathrow hotel for the hearing on Wednesday morning.
