Letter To Editor – Just to say thanks.

This letter isn’t so much about the game of rugby but more about the players. I love going to the matches in Musgrave Park.

This letter isn’t so much about the game of rugby but more about the players.

I love going to the matches in Musgrave Park. I love the atmosphere of the place and of course I love cheering on my heroes when they are on the field.

The one thing that I have always noticed from the first game I went to, is how friendly ALL the players are off the pitch.

They are asked to give autographs from the moment that they step out of their cars and are always more than happy to give them. Then, as soon as the final whistle of the game goes, hundreds of fans armed with programmes and biros stampede onto the pitch.

And, as ever, whether they have won lost or drawn, many players spend up to ten or fifteen minutes signing autographs while slowly moving to the edge of the pitch. (Who said men aren’t multi-tasking?!)

Before they sit down to their well-deserved meals, they sign more autographs and pose for photographs. I think these players are one of the most down-to-earth and friendly teams around and I want to say “thanks” for making every match such a great occasion!!
