Weekend Fixtures

The AIL begins this weekend, with the Tie of the Round taking place at Kilballyowen Bark, Bruff. The South Limerick side are making their debut in Division 3 of the competition at home to Clonakilty.

The A.I.L. begins this weekend, with the Tie of the Round taking place at Kilballyowen Bark, Bruff. The South Limerick side are making their debut in Division 3 of the competition at home to Clonakilty.

The West Cork men will be hoping to continue their good form after finishing in second place behind Garryowen in their Section of the Munster Senior Club League.

In Division 1, A.I.L. Champions Shannon are at home to Blackrock , with Mick Galwey’s men hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Unbeaten Garryowen are away to Carlow and Cork Constitution will be hoping to get back to winning ways, when they begin their campaign away to Buccaneers at Dubarry Park, Athlone. This match is being played under lights with a 7:00 kick-off.

In Division 2, Munster Senior League Section toppers U.L. Bohemian travel to Parsonstown to take on Barnhall. Shannonside neighbours, Old Crescent host St. Mary’s at Rosbrien, coming off the back of an impressive victory over Sunday’s Well in the Munster Senior League last Saturday.

There are two Munster derbies with Young Munster hosting Dolphin at Tom Clifford Park and newly-promoted Highfield taking on Thomond at Woodleigh Park.

Midleton, who are without a win so far this season, open their A.I.L. account at home to D.L.S.P.

Relegated Sunday’s Well host Suttonians at Musgrave Park, as they begin life in Division Three.

In the Munster Junior League, title favourites, Nenagh Ormond will be hoping to get back to winning ways, when they host Section toppers, Clonmel at Ormond Park. The North Tipperary side suffered a shock defeat away to Youghal in the opening round of the competition and any further setbacks may jeopardise their title aspirations.

Another Tipperary derby at Cashel, sees the home side taking on Clanwilliam, who won a typical game of two halves at home against Ennis last Sunday. Neighbours, Kilfeacle host Charleville and Thurles travel to Ballyanly to play Muskerry.

Nenagh Ormond’s conquerors, Youghal travel to Limerick to take on St. Mary’s, with the visitors hoping to build on last week’s surprise win. Kanturk, who recorded a one-point home win over the Limerick side are away to Skibbereen.

The only other Cork derby at Old Chapel sees Bandon take on Old Christians with both teams having won each of their opening games

Ennis, who were unlucky to lose to Clanwilliam last Saturday, host Fermoy, with the North Cork men coming off the back of a 64-0 trouncing at the hands of Kilfeacle. St. Senan’s are away to Crosshaven, with the Seasiders aiming to build on last week’s away win over Charleville.

At Richmond Park, the home side host Waterford City, with both teams seeking their first win of the campaign.

The two Kerry participants have a home game each and both are also seeking their first League wins. Castleisland host Abbeyfeale, who are also without

a win, while Tralee have a tougher assignment against Cobh Pirates.

In Division 3, table toppers, Douglas will be hoping to collect maximum points from their trip to the Banner County, when they travel to take on Kilrush. It is also the Clare side’s first match of the campaign. At Rathuard, Presentation and Ballincollig begin their campaigns in the competition.

At Carrick-on-Suir, the hosts take on Dunmanway in a repeat of a Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup tie, which the Tipperary side won in their visitors’ back yard.

Elsewhere, Galbally are at home to Kinsale, Mallow host Dungarvan and Newport entertain Newcastle West.

This weekend also sees the start of the Under 20 South Western Conference with six First Division games and eight in the Second Division.
