Having lost their four previous semi-finals, Bruff made amends on the fifth attempt by reaching the final of the Heineken Munster Junior Cup with a deserved 21-9 win over Tralee at Musgrave Park.

They will now face Nenagh Ormond in the decider at Thomond Park with May 2nd being the most likely date for this eagerly awaited clash. Brendan Deady and Michael Carroll scored tries for Bruff and Michael Lynch kicked three penalties and a conversion.

Alan O’Sullivan replied with two penalties and a drop goal for the Kerry side. Bandon booked themselves a home semi-final tie against Cashel next week in the semi-final of the Munster Junior Plate after their 20-9 win away to Mallow.

The First Division side did all the damage in the opening half and led 20-0 at the interval. Garryowen won their seventh Munster Seconds League title after they defeated Cork Constitution 25-12 in a play off at Temple Hill.
