Both Thomond and Highfield produced poor performances in Dublin, with Thomond losing to Dublin University 30-9 at College Park in Division Two of the AIL. Highfield’s promotion hope’s received a major set back in the Third Division, when they lost 18-5 against Wanderers at Lansdowne Road.

Shannon are on course to become the first side to win five successive Munster Senior Cup titles, when they reached the final after a 41-8 victory over Old Crescent in the semi-final.

Kilfeacle picked up a valuable bonus point in their 24-0 home win over Cobh Pirates and are now level with Nenagh at the top of the table, who needed a last minute try from Paudie Breen for an 18-12 win over Crosshaven. They now lead Bruff by four points. Youghal eased their relegation worries with a 25-17 home win over Old Christians. Bandon continued their good run with a 27-19 victory against St. Senan’s. The Clanwilliam v Bruff and Richmond v Clonmel games were postponed.

In Division Two, Tralee lost their unbeaten record when Cashel defeated them 19-13. Thurles have joined Tralee at the top after their 18- 5 win away over Charleville. Ballincollig look like they will be relegated after their 20-5 home defeat by Castleisland. Douglas moved off the foot of the table with their first league win, thanks to an 18-7 win against Ennis. The Muskerry v Kanturk and Waterford City v Skibbereen were cancelled due to the weather.

In Division Three Abbeyfeale have opened up a four point gap and Fermoy have drawn level with Mallow in second place. Abbeyfeale won the top game of the day, with a 12-6 win away to Mallow, while Fermoy picked up a bonus point in their 24-7 win at home to Galbally. Newcastle West still remain in contention after 22-12 victory Presentation. Dungarvan lost at home to Newport 9-5, Dunmanway defeated Killarney 18-5 and Kinsale defeated bottom side Kilrush 27-5.

Midleton won the Junior League South trophy after their 13-11 win over UCC and Skibbereen are the new McCarthy Cup holders after their 20-7 win over Bandon in the final at Clonakilty.

The U20 league resumed this weekend, with Garryowen defeating Bruff 23-17. UCC beat Cork Constitution 29-9. UL Bohemian defeated Sunday’s Well 9-6 and Young Munster had a 15-10 home win over Corinthians. Highfield picked up the points in Pool “B” with a 16-8 win over Shannon. Regards
