Munster Rugby fans have been looking for a meeting point in Toulouse at the weekend. After much investigation, MunsterRugby.ie, have arranged a meeting point in Toulouse for all Munster Rugby Supporters.

Meeting Point

The Australian Cafe 1 Rue D’Ariane L’UNION 31240 Toulouse

This venue can cater for 600 / 700 people easily (unlike other places, which are a bit smaller in the city centre). The venue is approx. 10 mins outside the city centre, but they are going to run shuttle buses from outside the Sofitel Hotel in the centre of Toulouse from Friday night through to the early hours of Sunday morning. These buses will also pick people up outside the Toulouse stadium after the Munster game on Saturday evening. The bar stocks Beamish and Beamish Red as well as other branded beers. We are trying to negotiate special offers on beer as well. So far they are going to do pints of Fosters for 4 (normally 5) and pints of Beamish for 5 (normally 6) On Friday night, they are putting on a live band for Munster Rugby Supporters – a rock and roll band playing everything from the Rolling Stones to the Beatles. They also have a very good selection of Irish music (inclu. The Fields of Athenry) which they will be playing over the weekend as well. They will have a DJ on Saturday night and the party will go on until 4 in the morning! The great thing about this venue is that if the weather is fine …(and the weather forecast looks very good for the weekend) .. people can drink outside without any hassle and basically noise won’t be an issue (which can be an issue in the city centre). The bar will also be doing a limited food menu including burgers and steaks. There are 6 other restaurants around the pub with food ranging from Chinese to French and Italian if people want something more. Also on Friday night in the Australian Cafe, the pub will be assisting us with the current fundraising initiative for the Mick O’Connell appeal. For those of you who are unaware of this appeal, last November 25 year old Mick O’Connell suffered serious spinal injuries while playing for Dolphin in the Cork Charity Cup. Mick spent the next two months fighting for his life. He is currently in the National Rehab Centre in Dun Laoghaire where he is receiving specialist care. Now we are trying to help Mick with his continued recovery. www.mickoconnell-appeal.com.

To assist with the fundraising, the Australian Cafe bar are going to raffle a keg of beer at 2 per ticket on Friday night and they are also donating 100 themselves to this very worthy cause. So – pick up a shuttle bus outside the Sofitel hotel in Toulouse city centre and get along to the Australian Cafe Bar …… See ye all there on Friday night to kick off the weekend ….
