Holder’s Shannon and Garryowen quailifed to play in this season’s Munster Clubs League Final, which is a repeat of last season’s decider. Shannon had a narrow victory over Thomond and a late surge, saw Garryowen defeat Midleton.

There were no major shocks in the Third round of the Heneken Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup. KIlfeacle defeated Charleville 19-14 in an exciting contest at the North Cork venue. There were injury time winners for Thurles at home to Clanwilliam, and Clonmel away to Castleisland. Muskerry reached the quarter finals for the first time with a 19-3 win away to Presentation. Also through to the last eight are Bruff, Crosshaven and Cashel. The Cobh Pirates Nenagh Ormond game was postponed, pending the out come of an appeal by Cobh Pirates.
