It is believed that Peter Clohessy has verbally agreed to play with Toulouse for four months.

The details of a contract to play with French club are currently being worked out and it is said that Peter will sign this week. Peter and his agent John Baker have been in talks with Toulouse, after being approached by the French club last week. According to Midi-Olympique Toulouse are also looking at Gloucester Prop Patrice Collazo.

The French club has a prop crisis after losing Franck Tournaire and Christian Califano to club rugby in England and the failure of the big Italian Andrea Lo Cicero to make an appearance. Toulouse has been concerned about the continued absence of their big Sicilian-born prop, who cleared out his flat in Toulouse and appears to have no intention of returning.

If you were to reflect on past experiences, France is probably the last place you would think to see Peter Clohessy playing out his rugby career, but obviously Toulouse have made him an offer that he cannot refuse.

Will the Claw now be know as “La Griffe”….?.
